About the eventAlmost 60 years after The Beatles released their hit "Eight Days a Week", the prospect of a four-day workweek for some looks not merely tantalising but realistic. In the workplace landscape after covid-19, more and more members of Generation Z (roughly people born between 1997 and 2012) are looking for opportunities to reduce the time they spend at work, whether that be in the office or even remotely from home or a coffee shop. EICN recently conducted a large-scale survey – targeting both its executive membership and also Gen Z employees – to gauge the impact of a four-day work week in global workforces, as well as the experiences of younger workers in adapting to the post-pandemic working environment. During this event, we will present the results of this cross-cultural survey and discuss what its implications are for our human resources and management teams going forward. Are companies in Japan already making adjustments? Or is it business as usual? Are young job applicants voting with their feet by making a shorter work week a priority in choosing where to take up employment offers? Join us in May as we try to unpack it all.
