Cash flow, liquidity and slow payments in the Middle East during and beyond the Covid-19 pandemic

Problems relating to cash flow, liquidity and slow payments are the number one risk for businesses in the Middle East and North Africa. This was one of the most startling results from the Economist Corporate Network’s 2021 Business Outlook Survey of 125 senior business leaders operating in the Middle East. In response to this clear message, the ECN in Dubai convened a roundtable discussion on 15 February 2021, involving 15 c-suite business leaders from a range of industry sectors to explore the problems of cash flow, liquidity and slow payments. Among them— to provide expert advice—were representatives of the global and regional banking, legal, professional services and credit insurance sectors.
