EICN South-east Asia welcomes new network director

Corporate Network is excited to announce our new network director for South-east Asia covering Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

The name and face might be familiar to some of you, as he was a panelist at a recent EICN event and indeed a former long-time colleague of ours at the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

Sumana Rajarethnam is a Singaporean national and a senior policy professional with 17 years of business advisory experience, nine of those as an analyst, principal and director with the EIU (from 2011-2020).

Sumana describes himself as someone with “the ability to make people think differently, discover new possibilities and change mindsets through advocacy, strategic communication and evidence-based analysis”.

He has most recently been working in the Chinese technology sector, including at ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, but returns to The Economist Group after two years of valuable experience to lead the EICN in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

Sumana starts with us on 1 August and is excited to meet our members and lead our events and briefings programme for the remainder of 2022 and beyond.
