As economic hub of South Africa’s Western Cape, Cape Town hosts members who have their Africa-based operations there
Cape Town was voted the best global city in 2013 in The Daily Telegraph's annual Travel Awards. Cape Town has four commercial nodes, and the city is home to many of South Africa’s largest domestically based corporations, as well as serves host to many foreign-headquartered companies. Most of the large companies with a presence in the city focus on industries such as hospitality/tourism, financial services, asset management, retail, media, publishing, logistics, petrochemical, architecture and advertising to name but a few. Given its importance in the context of the country and more broadly in Southern Africa, Cape Town is a logical location for The Economist Corporate Network. With a vibrant and engaged membership, it provides a welcoming and informative network to interact with. On- and off-calendar events and meetings provide members with exclusive opportunities to hear invited speakers share views of trends and developments in the country and region.
